Center of Attraction in Gita Vatika
While the primary attraction of Geeta Vatika for visitors is religious in nature. It is also a matter of joy for Thos who want to pay a little attention to the ancient history of India and want to take something in its architectural glory. Spread over 5.2 acres of land, it is a temple of Radha Krishna.
Gita Watika was founded by Swami Hanuman Prasad Poddar who was also the founder-editor of Kalyan. He stayed for 45 years in the premises of this place, and established Hanuman Prasad Poddar Memorial Committee here. Shri Radha Krishna is a product of Dhyan Kendra's efforts, and therefore is the temple of Shri Radha Krishna, where continuous prayers are made for Krishna's love, Radha.
The temple is built in the Nagra style of North India, and since 1968, the hare made by day and night is the constant mantra of Ram and Hare Krishna. In recent times, a majestic umbrella or pavilion has been built specifically for the convenience of prayers and mantras that keep Geeta Watika alive.
There is a lot of activism in Gita Vatika, especially during the Radha Ashtami festival where a large number of devotees come to the temple. The day after Diwali is also important, when the devotees offer food packages here and worship Giriraj.
Gita is situated in the northern part of the city on the jail road, very close to the Asuran Chowk of Vatika Shahpur. You can easily get bored by bus or by bicycle-rickshaw or auto-rickshaw rent. It is open all day, all year round.
